Christian Truth Event

Sunday afternoons at 3:00pm

An initiative of our Church's Evangelism Team, these community events are designed to steep us in the Biblical Truths which are becoming unknown in the increasingly secular world in which we live. We have had wonderful Christians of all faith backgrounds join us for learning and discussion of the challenges of living as a disciple of Christ in today's world. The devil is working overtime to sow His lies. We gather to celebrate God's Truth.

Each presentation is followed by a free, fresh-cooked meal by Chef Maggie.

2024 Dates

Topic:    “Caring for a Transgender Child”

When:  Sunday, February 18th, 2024 Time-3:00pm
Cost:  Free (meal provided afterward)
Where: St. Paul Lutheran Church (701 S. Home Street, Wittenberg)

Approximately 300,000 teenager youth (ages 13-17) identify as transgender
in the United States. That’s 1.4% of 13 to 17-year-olds (this is according to the
Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law). How are faithful Christians to think
about —and respond— to this? More specifically, how should we respond to a
child who says that are transgender?

In our Christian Truth Event this month, we will not consider politics or the
broader approach to transgenderism among our youth or in society, instead we
will consider how to lovingly and faithfully respond to a transgender child.

We certainly don’t have all the answers, but we do know the love of Jesus
Christ our Savior. We do know how Jesus cares for each one of us individually, and
we do know how to witness to God’s truth in the midst of a flailing world. The key
to our approach is to be caring. This is our topic for this month: Caring for a
Transgender Child. Come and join us for a free presentation and meal.
